Evaluation

       1. In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real magazines?

My magazine, Hooked has used the form of other magazine as influences and have been used in a variety of ways. One way this has been show is the tile on the front cover because it has been enlarged and has been stretched along the top of the page. This type of style has been used in so many popular magazines for example Vogue, Heat, Rolling Stone and Cosmopolitan.
Also I have also made the design of the tile unique from other magazines. This is because my magazine has shapes missing outline famous places in London to symbolises that this is a British magazine brand.

The camera shot is also a popular convention in pop magazines, the close shot of the image covering the background is very popular in pop magazines whether it is for children or adults and also it tells the audience what the main feature of the magazine is about and in this magazine it is about M.I.A.

Another way that the magazine uses conventions of real magazines is the cover lines. This is because magazines typically have short quotes or sub headings to inform the reader about what will be included other than the double page spread, and this is a good thing because it can reach a wider target audience especially with the fashion and film release content inside.

Also this magazine is different from many other magazine because of instead just using music alone I have included TV shows, film releases and the latest trend in pop culture. I have done this because it draws the interest of more people rather than have the usual selection of  an audience it would widen the influence and since not many other magazines
do this, this magazine would get more attention because it would be unique.

Below are 3 example of typical magazines I drew some inspirations from:
